EastEnders actor and pop star shares heartbreak after losing his beloved brother
AN EASTENDERS actor and pop star has shared his heartbreak after losing his beloved brother. The actor, who is now based in LA and aged 49, joined BBC kids TV as angel-faced Tegs Ratcliffe in 1988. 5 5 5 Responding to the latest Instagram post from the legendary Lewis Capaldi - EastEnders Sean Maguire wrote a heart breaking comment. The actor said: "Lewis been a fan for a while. Don't like talking about this sh***. "But having a tough time just now. Lost my brother six months ago. Holding it together. "But dropped my kids off this morning and played 'someone you loved' and hit differently. Then burst into tears. "I didn't know I needed it. Maybe I did. Had to pull the car over and keep singing and crying. "Thank you for the therapy. Really thank you. You helped me get back up. X" The emotional and heartfelt post comes weeks after Sean announced his brother's death on his own account. The star wrote at the time: "I've struggled to find the words or even choose the pictures for this. "Because it means that it's real but for those who don't already know our beloved brother Darren Maguire passed away on Saturday, 11th January. "He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a truly remarkable man, friend, son, brother, and father. Inside EastEnders heartthrob Sean Maguire's idyllic family life "He was so loved by everyone that knew him. I'm still in so much shock. "I can barely form a sentence, but I know the world has lost one of its most beloved people and I have lost my best friend. Yet his character was forced to quit Grange Hill school in 1991 when his step-dad secured a job in Germany. The English-American performer later spent a year in Albert Square as troubled teen Aidan Brosnan. Joining the soap as a 17-year-old in 1993, Sean took on tough storylines focused on homelessness and drug abuse which culminated in a near suicide attempt. While he was stopped from taking his own life by girlfriend Mandy, he blamed her for ruining his life and fled to Ireland. Sean became a pop star after leaving EastEnders, scoring eight top 30 hits including Good Day which peaked at number 12 in the UK. And he joined the cast of Scott & Bailey in 2012. Sean swapped grey Britain for sunny California in 2000 and became a US citizen just in time to vote in the presidential election. His career has gone from strength to strength in the States. He played the lead role in 300 parody Meet The Spartans, starred alongside Kevin Hart in fantasy comedy Krod Mandoon, and took over the part of Robin Hood in ABC's Once Upon A Time. In addition to acting, he also teaches aspiring thespians through his business The Players Conservatory. But most of all Sean is a proud dad of three with his former cop wife Tanya Flynn. 5 5

WAYNE Rooney looks short of holiday spirit on a sunshine break with smiling wife Coleen and their jolly band of pals. The ex-England and Man United ace, 39, seemed glum in the snap in Ibiza, and was covered up in a T-shirt and cap. Yet his gang of chums — including old team-mates John O'Shea and Michael Carrick — and partners bared the flesh and supped cocktails. Coleen, a drink in each hand, posted the snap online and captioned it: 'Amazing time in Ibiza with great friends.' But many spotted Wayne's pain with one commenting: 'Wayne needs to tell his face he is having a fab time.' Rooney has been tipped for a shock return to management - in non-league. He was sacked by Plymouth Argyle on New Year's Eve. Rooney left the Pilgrims bottom of the Championship after a dismal seven-month spell. The 39-year-old won just five of his 25 games in charge at Home Park. Plymouth were eventually relegated to League One despite an upturn in form under Miron Muslic. FA chief shares thoughts on Sarina Wiegman's England future ahead of Lionesses' Euros title defence
FA CHIEF Mark Bullingham expects Sarina Wiegman to carry on as England boss - even if her team endured a Euros group stage exit. And the Football Association's top exec thinks the women's game will continue to grow no matter where the Lionesses finish in the tournament. 4 4 4 Holders England are just seven days away from commencing the defence of the Euros title they won at Wembley three years ago. They will battle it out for knockout place with an in-form France who they play in Zurich, Switzerland on July 5 before duels with the Netherlands and Wales. Last January Wiegman, 55, extended her contract, which was due to expire after this summer's Euros, until after the 2027 World Cup. The Dutch coach is regarded as one of the most successful England managers having guided the team to Euros glory and their first ever World Cup final. On whether a group-stage exit would force the FA to consider her position, Bullingham said: "I don't see any scenario changing that. "We're delighted that Sarina's in place until 2027 On whether Wiegman's reign could go beyond the next Women's World Cup, he added: "We haven't looked beyond that time scale yet or engaged in those conversations. "We feel we have us locked into this tournament and the next and that feels very good for us. "That's not to say we wouldn't have a conversation at some point in the future but it's too early for that really." England's group D opener with France comes nine days after new research revealed a decrease in average broadcast audiences for Women's Super League games. A Women's Sport Trust study found the average UK broadcast audience for the WSL had declined by 35% year on year. However with England World Cup final clash with Spain being the most-watched women's sport event on TV in 2023, Bullingham believes the game will continue to grow and attract large audiences He said: "We see every international tournament as an opportunity to accelerate growth rather than it being a negative. "If you look at the last World Cup being in Australia - the challenge with the time zones made it difficult for teams in Europe to achieve really high figures. "But actually, we were still, despite that, achieving good figures so we're really confident that we'll achieve good figures this time around." 4 Plans to build a statue of England's Women's team are still ongoing according to the FA. The football authority entered into discussions about its design following the last Women's World Cup. The FA says it is "completely committed" to the project with the commissioning process currently at an advanced stage with an update likely to be provided after the summer.

Alima furiously ended things with dumped Remell last night in an explosive showdown following his return from the sleepover. instead of pairing with new girl Poppy, who he spent the last two days snogging at every opportunity. During his time in the other villa, Remell made Poppy believe he was going to pick her. He told her: 'I'm being comfy around you still. It's the first time in, you know, the villa that I have felt like this, so it's telling me something.' He even made a shocking confession to the new bombshell and told her he might be 'done' with Alima. But he then changed his mind and Alima was thrilled to be picked, until she learned what Remell had been up to. Alima soon confronted Remell in a bad-tempered chat in the garden and told him last night things between them were over. Meanwhile, Megan finally confirmed last night that she and Tommy were over, after spending recent days ramping up her connection with rugby lad Conor. No sooner had she told a delighted Conor about the development, he suggested they spend the night in the hideaway. The explosive move came after they shared two snogs on the Terrace behind smitten Tommy Bradley 's back, infuriating fans. Megan and Tommy had seemed to be one of the dating show's most secure couples until this week, when her head was turned by Conor - sparking other Islanders to brand the situation 'wife swap'. And fans turned on 'nasty' Megan after she gleefully called Conor and Tommy's row over her "brilliant". 6 6
